Value Forces is solving two problems in THA that result in early revision surgery.
• Femoral fractures during primary THA or developing within 90 days
• Aseptic loosening of femoral stem occurring within 90 days
Today a mallet is used manually in THA to impact broaches and stems for insertion into the femur.
Manual impaction can result in unintended high forces that lead to intraoperative femoral fracture.
Value Forces has developed a system to detect femoral microcracks in real-time to avoid fractures.
It is predicted there will be 2.8 million primary THAs performed globally in 2030.
The annual revision rate is reported to be 8% of the primary THA's globally.
Up to 50% of those revision surgeries occur within 0 - 90 days. .
